Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, Visits Gangdong Children's Restaurant to Serve Healthy Dinner to Children

On the 25th, Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, visited the 'Children's Restaurant' and carefully checked the operation status while serving hamburger steak for dinner to the children.

Opened in 2021 in Amsa-dong, Gangdong-gu, the 'Gangdong Children's Restaurant' is the first of its kind in the country to be directly operated by a local government. It provides delicious and nutritious dinners to children who have difficulty having proper meals due to their parents' dual-income jobs or challenging economic conditions, at the affordable price of only 2,500 won.

In addition to providing meals, a play area was created in a corner of the restaurant where care teachers naturally encourage children who have finished eating to participate in experiential programs, ensuring that there is no care gap while the children stay.

Mayor Lee Soo-hee said, "We will continue to develop good policies to alleviate the biggest concern of dual-income parents, which is the care gap after school," and added, "We will strive to expand the Children's Restaurant so that growing children can have healthy meals."
