Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) will hold the '13th Mapo-gu Children's Festival' on June 2 at Mapo-gu Office and the Mapo Youth Center.
Marking its 13th year, this festival is held under the theme 'Mapo-dungi, Protect the Earth.' The district planned the festival with performances and programs designed to help children develop an early interest in nature and the environment.
The festival venue is organized into ▲Family Culture Field ▲Mapo Play Field ▲Earth Love Field ▲Rest Field in accordance with this theme.
At the 'Family Culture Field,' visitors can watch performances such as children's musicals and character puppet shows. The 'Mapo Play Field' offers rides including a large bear bounce, one rail train, two small trains, and bubble play with character dolls. Compared to last year, the number of performances and rides has increased, and visitors can also meet 'Kkaebi' and 'Kkaesun,' characters from Red Road.
The 'Earth Love Field' and 'Rest Field' focus on nature and environmental programs. At the 'Earth Love Field,' participants can join eco-friendly experience programs such as making pouches from recycled materials and a cypress wood playground. The 'Rest Field,' an indoor resting space for event participants, features a children's environmental safety exhibition.
Additionally, events such as the Zero Incineration Store Resource Circulation Exhibition Experience and the Earth Keeper Stamp Tour are prepared to help children naturally learn the importance of the environment.
The 'Our Family Golden Bell,' one of the main events of the children's festival, will be held from 4:30 PM for one hour at the Open Performance Naru of the Mapo Youth Center. One hundred families who applied in advance will participate, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis through the Mapo-gu Childcare Support Center website.
For detailed information and application methods, please refer to the Mapo-gu Childcare Support Center website or contact the Mapo-gu Family Happiness Support Division.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "I hope children, the future leaders, have a joyful and exciting time at this Mapo-gu Children's Festival," and added, "I hope it becomes a valuable opportunity to also take an interest in nature and the environment."
