Jeon Hyun-hee, Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, will hold an 'Emergency Press Briefing on Current Issues' at the Gwanghwamun Government Seoul Office on the morning of the 30th.

According to a Commission official, Chairperson Jeon is expected to address issues such as the conflict of interest involving National Assembly members holding virtual assets (coins), which arose from the controversy over lawmaker Kim Nam-guk's large-scale investments, and the controversy over 'preferential hiring of children' involving senior officials of the Central Election Commission. In particular, she is likely to explain the Commission's investigation status and countermeasures related to these matters.

Attention is also focused on whether there will be any mention of Han Sang-hyuk, Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, who is facing dismissal after being indicted on charges of manipulating scores in the comprehensive programming channel re-approval evaluation, during the Q&A session.

Chairperson Jeon, like Chairman Han, was appointed during the previous Moon Jae-in administration and has faced pressure from the ruling party to step down. Her term is set to expire next month.
