A woman who killed a woman in her 20s, whom she met through a part-time job app, dismembered the body, and abandoned it, has been arrested.
Busan District Court Judge Mok Myeong-gyun issued an arrest warrant on the 29th during the warrant hearing for A, who is charged with murder and corpse abandonment, citing concerns of flight risk.
At 1:53 p.m. that day, A appeared at the court for the warrant hearing, wearing a black hat pulled down and a mask, and did not respond to reporters' questions about the motive, whether there were accomplices, or the reason for dismembering the body.
According to the police, A is suspected of killing a woman in her 20s, B, whom she met through a part-time job app, with a weapon around 6 p.m. on the 26th, and dismembering the body.
After dismembering B's body, A placed it in a travel suitcase and took a taxi around 3 a.m. on the 27th, getting off between Hopo Station and Mulgeum Station in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, then abandoned the body and suitcase in the nearby grass by the Nakdong River.
The taxi driver noticed bloodstains on the suitcase and found it suspicious when A asked to be dropped off in a secluded area at dawn, so he reported it to the police.
The responding police confirmed parts of the body and B's ID card in the suitcase and made an emergency arrest of A around 6 a.m. that day. The remaining parts of the body were found at B's residence.
A police official said, “A claims the crime was impulsive,” and added, “We are conducting an investigation to determine the exact motive.”
