Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 29th that it was the only university in the Jeonnam region to produce successful candidates (3 administrative positions) in the ‘2023 National Government Level 7 Public Official Recruitment Exam for Regional Talents’ conducted by the Ministry of Personnel Management.
The honored successful candidates are Choi Won-jin (Department of Political Communication and Public Relations, 4th-year student), Ha Yoon-jung (Department of Business Administration, graduated February 2023), and Kang Bu-min (Department of Physical Education, graduated February 2023).
Kang Bu-min, a graduate of the Department of Physical Education at the university, said, “I applied early for the National Government Level 7 Trainee Program for Regional Talents supported by the university and prepared for the public official exam. Last year, due to the spread of COVID-19, it was not easy to find a study space with other students preparing for the exam, but the university provided a study room, allowing me to study with other students and improve my skills.”
He added, “The PSAT mock exams consistently held by the university were a great help, and if there are students preparing for public service, I would recommend participating in the programs supported by the university.”
Choi Se-woong, Director of the Talent Development Center at Mokpo National University, stated, “The Talent Development Center operates various support programs for recommending Level 7 trainee candidates for regional talents, including lectures by successful seniors, individual counseling, mock exams, and scholarship support. We will continue to provide unwavering support so that students can prepare more systematically for the exam.”
Meanwhile, the National Government Level 7 Public Official Recruitment Exam for Regional Talents is conducted by the Ministry of Personnel Management, where outstanding students ranked within the top 10% of their department’s grades are recommended by their universities. The selection process includes the first written exam (PSAT, Constitution), the second document screening, and the third interview.
This year’s successful candidates will work as trainee employees for one year starting next year, and after a review of their appointment eligibility, they will be appointed as National Government Level 7 public officials.
