A man in his 30s suspected of killing his father with a weapon and abandoning the body was arrested by the police.
On the morning of the 29th, the Jungnang Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested a man in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges of parricide and are currently investigating him.
Mr. A is accused of killing his father, Mr. B, who was in his 60s, at his apartment in Myeonmok-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul, and abandoning the body in the machine room of the underground parking lot using the elevator.
At around 12:48 a.m. that day, the police responded to a resident’s report of bloodstains on the floor of the apartment’s underground parking lot and discovered Mr. B’s body in the machine room on the second basement level parking lot.
After analyzing nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV), vehicle black boxes, and bloodstains, the police believe that Mr. A killed Mr. B at home.
Mr. A was arrested after returning home following the transfer of the body to the basement, and it is reported that he is denying the charges.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A after investigating the motive and circumstances of the crime with Mr. A and the bereaved family.
