Full-Scale Implementation of Indo-Pacific Strategy Including International Cooperation

President Yoon Suk-yeol is scheduled to review the current status of cooperation and exchange views on future cooperation measures with the member countries of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) during the Korea-Pacific Islands Summit on the 29th.
The presidential office explained that this summit holds significance as a full-scale implementation of the vision of the "Free, Peaceful, and Prosperous Indo-Pacific Strategy," which the Korean government announced last November during its participation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
Key agenda items also include regional security situations, international cooperation measures, mutual interests, and cooperation related to the bid to host the 2030 Busan World Expo.
On the morning of the same day, President Yoon and the leaders of five countries visiting Korea?Cook Islands, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Niue, and Palau?will hold bilateral talks respectively.
Earlier, President Yoon held separate summit meetings with President Taneti Maamau of Kiribati, Prime Minister Siaosi Sovaleni of Tonga, Prime Minister Kausea Natano of Tuvalu, Prime Minister Ishmael Kalsakau of Vanuatu, and Prime Minister James Marape of Papua New Guinea, who arrived in Korea the previous day, discussing the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as development cooperation, climate change response, marine and fisheries cooperation, and health infrastructure development.
