KT Selected as Autonomous Joint Training Center... Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises

KT announced on the 28th that it has been selected again this year as an Autonomous Joint Training Center in the National Human Resources Development Consortium performance evaluation, following last year. The Autonomous Joint Training Center is designated for exemplary business operation institutions within the top 30% in performance evaluation for two consecutive years among training centers participating in the consortium. These institutions are guaranteed autonomy in business operations.

The National Human Resources Development Consortium is a national workforce development project promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea since 2001, aimed at workers in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who face relatively greater difficulties in vocational skill development compared to large corporations.

KT has participated in this project since 2003. KT provides job-related training essential for industrial sites, such as construction management and on-site industrial safety management, based on its wired and wireless network infrastructure and operational know-how, targeting workers in SMEs.

From April to September last year, KT conducted a total of 7 courses and 18 sessions of online education for 545 employees from 242 SMEs, including 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Python for Software Developers' and 'Practical Wireless Facility Construction Management.' Using virtual reality (VR) infrastructure, safety education was also implemented to prevent major accidents in the telecommunications industry. Starting this year, KT has newly established the 'AI Basic' course, considering the demand for beginner-level AI utilization education among trainees.
