Magnitude 6.2 Earthquake at 7:03 PM on the 26th
On the 26th, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported that a magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred off the coast of Chiba Prefecture in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The time was around 7:03 PM.
The Meteorological Agency explained that there is no concern of a tsunami caused by this earthquake. The focal depth was 50 km.
The Korea Meteorological Administration reported that the earthquake epicenter was located 54 km east of Chiba Prefecture.
Due to this earthquake, a seismic intensity of lower 5 on the Japanese scale was detected in eastern Chiba Prefecture's J?shi and Asahi, as well as Kamisu in Ibaraki Prefecture.
On the 11th, Chiba Prefecture also experienced a magnitude 5.2 earthquake, with a maximum seismic intensity of upper 5 felt in Kisarazu.
The seismic intensity scale used by the Japan Meteorological Agency is a relative concept that indicates the degree of shaking felt by people and objects in the affected area, unlike magnitude which represents the absolute strength of an earthquake.
