This agreement was promoted to realize a healthy city by responding to climate change through combining walking practice and public transportation use.

Each organization agreed to cooperate on ▲realizing a healthy city and actively carrying out projects through revitalizing public transportation use ▲discovering walking attractions around station areas to realize a fun city in Seo-gu and exchanging information ▲operating subway use and walking challenges using the Seo-gu walking app (WalkOn).

Seo-gu plans to operate a walking challenge using the WalkOn app, distributing transportation cards by lottery to residents who meet a certain number of steps during June and post subway use verification photos on the Gwangju Seo-gu walking community bulletin board.

Mayor Kim Ikang of Seo-gu said, “We will take the lead in spreading walking practice in daily life by stimulating residents' interest through various challenges and providing incentives.”

Meanwhile, Seo-gu has been operating a ‘Daily Walking Challenge’ every month since last year and has received great response, with the number of subscribers to the Gwangju Seo-gu community reaching 10,000.
