Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, President Choi Jun-woo) announced on the 26th that it will freeze the interest rates for the Special Bogeumjari Loan, a long-term, fixed-rate, installment-repayment mortgage loan, for June.
Accordingly, the preferential type will have interest rates ranging from 4.05% per annum (10 years) to 4.35% (50 years), and the general type will have rates from 4.15% (10 years) to 4.45% (50 years).
Low-income youth, newlywed households, and socially disadvantaged groups are eligible for preferential rates, allowing them to use the loan at rates as low as 3.25% (10 years) to 3.55% (50 years) per annum.
An HF official stated, "Despite the recent rise in government bond yields, we decided to freeze the June interest rates to alleviate the housing cost burden for actual demanders."
To assist customers unfamiliar with non-face-to-face applications via internet and mobile, HF Corporation expanded face-to-face application and reception banks to NH Nonghyup Bank starting from the 22nd, in addition to SC First Bank and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea.
