A tourist suspected of anaphylaxis, Ms. A, was urgently transported to a local hospital using the Coast Guard's medium-sized helicopter, Hwinsuriho, from Chuja Island, Jeju.
According to the Jeju Regional Coast Guard on the 26th, the emergency patient Ms. A (female, 65 years old) visited Chuja Island for tourism the previous day and went to the Chuja Health Center around 9:30 PM due to allergy symptoms.
As hypotensive shock persisted, she returned to the Chuja Health Center at around 10:43 PM, but the health center requested transfer to an emergency medical institution for accurate examination and treatment of the emergency patient.
The Jeju Coast Guard immediately dispatched a helicopter with emergency medical technicians at 10:52 PM for rapid patient transfer, continuously monitoring the patient's condition via the disaster safety communication network from 10:57 PM, and arrived at Shinyang Port, Chuja, at 11:07 PM.
After boarding the emergency patient Ms. A, her guardian, and a nurse, the helicopter landed at Jeju National University Hospital at around 11:34 PM, handing over the emergency patient.
Meanwhile, the Jeju Coast Guard has transported a total of 31 people this year using patrol vessels and aircraft, among whom 5 emergency patients were transported by helicopter.
