[Photo] Korea Customs Service and Korea Post Join Forces to Block Drug Smuggling

On the 26th, the Korea Customs Service announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Korea Post at Seoul Customs to mutually cooperate on "blocking the import of illegal items such as drugs and improving international postal services." International mail has recently been identified as a major route for drug smuggling. In fact, the number of drug smuggling cases detected through international mail increased by 158%, from 292 cases in 2020 to 461 cases in 2022. The agreement was signed based on a consensus that close cooperation between the two organizations is necessary to block drug smuggling and enhance international postal services.
