Hollys announced on the 26th that it is piloting the operation of serving robots in its stores.
The pilot operation is focused on testing ▲order reception ▲serving stability ▲response to unexpected situations, and is being conducted at the Hollys Gongdeok branch in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Hollys plans to accumulate data through this pilot operation, improve the service, and finalize the operation plan before officially introducing it in the second half of this year.
To experience the serving robot, customers can place orders through a tablet PC provided at the test table inside the Hollys Gongdeok store. When the ordered menu is ready, the serving robot moves to the pickup counter, picks up the menu, and delivers it to the corresponding table.
The serving robots used in Hollys stores are equipped with 3D cameras and LIDAR sensors, enabling effective recognition of spaces and obstacles for stable serving. Additionally, they feature shock absorption devices, allowing safer delivery of beverage menus that are vulnerable to shaking.
