Sunchang-gun Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in Job Policy Evaluation

Sunchang County was selected as an outstanding local government in the job policy evaluation conducted by Jeonbuk Province targeting 14 cities and counties within the province.

According to the county on the 25th, this evaluation is conducted annually to assess the effectiveness of job creation policies in the 14 cities and counties and to seek directions for improvement based on the results.

Additionally, the evaluation comprehensively assesses overall job policies including employment indicators, utilization of employment service platforms, efforts in job creation, promotion of job policies, and networking. The county received excellent evaluations and was selected as an ‘Outstanding’ institution.

The county has promoted various job projects for youth, such as youth employment and startup support projects, the youth Fab Lab platform construction project, and the Sunchang Living Lab project.

It received high marks for discovering jobs tailored to regional characteristics, including customized vocational training support, career-type jobs for middle-aged individuals utilizing their experience, fermentation and jang (fermented sauces) related region-specific jobs, and local tourism jobs.

In particular, efforts to stabilize small business management and attract various sports competitions to prevent regional economic contraction amid the COVID-19 crisis were also highly evaluated.

Jeong Hwa-young, Vice Governor of Sunchang, who participated in the award ceremony for outstanding cities and counties in job policy evaluation held at Jeonbuk Provincial Office on the 25th, said, “We will continue to strive to discover quality jobs by promoting various job policies tailored to regional characteristics.”
