According to CNBC and other outlets, Prop Store, a company handling auctions of movie props, will auction over 1,400 props actually used in famous Hollywood movies and various TV programs over three days from the 28th to the 30th of next month in Los Angeles, USA. Prop Store described it as "one of the largest memorabilia auctions in the world."
As news of the auction spread, interest has already poured in on social media (SNS) and other platforms. The item receiving the most attention is the white ceremonial gown worn by Princess Leia in Star Wars. It is the outfit Leia wore in the final scene of the movie alongside Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. The costume designer John Mollo received an award at the American Academy Awards for this design. The gown up for auction was worn by Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia, during the filming.

The starting price is 1 million USD (approximately 1.32 billion KRW), and the auction price is expected to soar up to 2 million USD (approximately 2.64 billion KRW).
Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter, also put up for auction the Gryffindor dormitory uniform and glasses he wore in the 2002 film 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.' Photos released by Prop Store show traces of stains on the cloak, likely from filming. The Harry Potter uniform is expected to sell for 150,000 USD (approximately 200 million KRW) per set.
The Batpod ridden by Batman is projected to be sold for 1 to 2 million USD (approximately 1.32 to 2.64 billion KRW). Additionally, the Batman costume worn by Michael Keaton, who played Bruce Wayne in the 1990 and 1992 films 'Batman' and 'Batman Returns,' is also up for auction, with an expected sale price between 40,000 and 80,000 USD (approximately 53 million to 105 million KRW), Forbes reported.
Other items include the shield used by Brad Pitt, who played Achilles in the 2004 film 'Troy' released in Korea, the light-up Star-Lord helmet used in the 2014 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' and the hammer used by Andy Dufresne, the protagonist of the 1994 film 'The Shawshank Redemption.'
Prop Store expects to raise up to 12 million USD (approximately 15.8 billion KRW) from this auction.
Brandon Illenger, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Prop Store, said in an interview with CNBC, "It is rare for so many memorabilia items to be gathered in one place." He added, "Hollywood does not keep these props for long. It is impossible to store these items without incurring costs. One of the reasons for doing this (auction) is to cherish these items and prevent them from simply being thrown into the trash."
The auction will be held on-site at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, and according to foreign media, online participation is also possible by registering on the Prop Store website.
