- After over a year of research and development, launching the brand's first highball line 'Highball5'
- Focused on accessibility so anyone can enjoy it as a daily highball
Platinum Beer Co., Ltd. (CEO Moon-Tak Bae), a leading domestic craft beer manufacturer, announced on the 25th that it will newly launch its first highball line, ‘Highball5’.
‘Highball5,’ produced by Platinum Beer after about a year of research and development, leveraging its years of craft beer brewing expertise, is an attractive product featuring a subtle yet full whiskey flavor harmonized with lemon flavor. It is designed as a daily highball that anyone can comfortably enjoy, focusing on making it easy for first-time highball drinkers to enjoy without hesitation.
Additionally, while maintaining the deep flavor unique to highballs, the product lowers bitterness and body to appeal to a broader audience, enhancing drinkability by balancing the refreshing and sweet notes of lemon.
A Platinum Beer representative stated, “The launch of ‘Highball5’ reflects our corporate strategy to increase consumer satisfaction through product diversification alongside our flagship craft beer line and to lead the domestic alcoholic beverage market. Although it is true that the enthusiasm for the domestic craft beer market has somewhat cooled compared to previous years, we plan to implement aggressive marketing with ‘Highball5’ to reignite the craft beer boom.”
Since the revision of the Liquor Tax Act in 2002, Platinum Beer has been a first-generation craft beer manufacturer in Korea, starting from a small brewery of about 75 pyeong in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul. Even before craft beer culture was established domestically, it has been externally recognized for its quality by winning numerous awards at various domestic and international beer competitions.
Currently, Platinum Beer owns three production facilities in Korea, including locations in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, Jeungpyeong, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do, which was completed last August. The Yesan plant is equipped with world-class German brewing and packaging facilities capable of mass-producing beer as well as other alcoholic beverages and drinks, reflecting significant efforts to expand productivity.
Meanwhile, Platinum Beer’s ‘Highball5’ is available for purchase at major domestic convenience stores such as CU and Seven Eleven, as well as large supermarkets.
