Two Opinion Polls Conducted Among City and Province Residents on Pros and Cons
Gyeongsangnam-do and Busan City will conduct a public opinion survey to ask residents of the two regions about administrative integration between the city and province.
According to Gyeongnam Province on the 24th, the survey will be conducted twice in total from late May to early June, targeting 2,000 men and women aged 18 or older residing in Gyeongnam and Busan.
The survey will be conducted through wired and wireless telephone interviews, with 1,000 people surveyed each in Busan and Gyeongnam.
The questionnaire is divided into personal information and current issue questions, and respondents will answer about their awareness of administrative integration, opinions for or against it, and reasons for their stance.
Gyeongnam Province and Busan City plan to confirm the will of the city and provincial residents through this survey and discuss whether to proceed with the administrative integration process in the future.
An official from the province said, “This survey is a process to collect opinions from city and provincial residents before the full-scale promotion of the administrative integration process,” adding, “Previously, Gyeongnam Province and Busan City held several consultations in the working-level promotion committee regarding the administrative integration promotion plan, the schedule of the public opinion survey, and the questionnaire, and even completed expert consultations.”
