Certificate Presentation to the Injured Hero of Mapo-gu

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Presents Certificate of Honor to ‘Hero of Mapo-gu’ Injured in Accident

Park Kang-su, Mayor of Mapo District (right), took a photo with a district resident recognized as a disability by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 24th.

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) presented a certificate of honor from the Ministry of Health and Welfare to a resident of Gongdeok-dong at the district office policy meeting room on the afternoon of the 24th.

The resident (Lee __, 58) was recognized as an injured hero by the Ministry of Health and Welfare after sustaining fractures while rushing to the scene of a vehicle accident on Mallijae Old Road last February and rescuing the driver from inside the crashed vehicle.

The honored individual, Mr. Lee, expressed his feelings upon receiving the certificate, saying, “I did not think I did anything extraordinary, but I am grateful and a bit embarrassed to be selected as a hero.”

Mayor Park Gang-su said, “It is not easy to sacrifice oneself to perform a good deed, and we are truly proud to have such a remarkable person in Mapo-gu.”
