Disease Control Agency Collaborates with National Health Insurance Service to Respond to Infectious Diseases

The Honam Regional Disease Response Center of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced on the 24th that it has signed a business agreement with the Gwangju Jeolla Jeju Regional Headquarters of the National Health Insurance Service to prevent and curb the spread of infectious diseases within the local community.

This business agreement was made to jointly respond to the prevention of infectious disease spread within the local community through cooperation with related local organizations, including infectious disease response and prevention promotion. After the signing ceremony, a joint infectious disease prevention promotion event, including guidance on infectious disease prevention rules, was held at Peace Park in front of Gwangju City Hall with the National Health Insurance Service.

The Honam Regional Disease Response Center and the National Health Insurance Service will share information on infectious disease occurrence trends within the Honam region, establish a joint cooperation system to devise ways to utilize local infrastructure and joint promotion plans, and conduct joint infectious disease prevention campaigns according to the phases of infectious disease outbreaks and spread.

Yoon Jeong-hwan, director of the Honam Regional Disease Response Center, said, "Through this agreement, we have established a cooperative system that can more effectively deliver infectious disease prevention messages to local residents," adding, "The Honam Regional Disease Response Center will strive to prevent the spread of infectious diseases through cooperation with the local community and work to create a safe and healthy local society."
