"Labor Unions Trample on the Constitutional Basic Rights of Ordinary Citizens"
Regarding the ruling and opposition parties' discussion on the amendment to the Assembly and Demonstration Act that bans nighttime rallies, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized it as an "unconstitutional idea," prompting Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, to raise his voice, saying, "Can't you see the suffering people?"
On the 24th, Kim said through his social media (SNS), "Ordinary citizens have the right to pursue happiness guaranteed by the Constitution to live peaceful daily lives, but do some radical elite unions have some kind of special privilege license that allows them to trample on these constitutional basic rights of ordinary citizens?"

He added, "It is lamentable to see Lee's bizarre perception so detached from public sentiment, and seeing the underlying ‘debt of gratitude to the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (Minnocho)’, it reaffirms the inherent limitation of the Democratic Party, which inevitably submits to unions. The occupation of city roads, overnight sit-in rallies, public urination, and drunken and abusive behavior are not recent exceptional cases but the tyranny of the massive elite unions that has been ongoing for years."
Kim further stated, "Even the rallies in front of former President Moon Jae-in’s residence, which caused severe harm to residents due to ‘unreasonably loud loudspeakers,’ led Democratic Party Supreme Council member Jeong Cheong-rae, floor leader Park Kwang-on, and lawmakers Han Byung-do and Yoon Young-chan to propose amendments to the Assembly and Demonstration Act to restrict or ban such rallies, but the Democratic Party itself denies these amendments, falling into self-contradiction. Despite being judged by the people for ‘double standards,’ the Democratic Party still struggles in the quagmire of ‘double standards’ and now seems to have become beyond redemption."
