In-depth Presentation Class on Hyundai Motor Group Case Study
Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, made a surprise appearance at a Yonsei University organizational learning lecture focused on Hyundai Motor Company and observed the students' discussions. Chairman Chung attended a case study presentation on Hyundai Motor Group as a game changer in the future mobility sector and listened attentively to the students' opinions.
On the 24th, Yonsei University announced that Chairman Chung observed the class "Organizational Learning: Opportunities and Pitfalls" taught by Professor Lee Moo-won of the Business School on the 11th. The lecture featured an in-depth case study presentation analyzing Hyundai Motor Group and Chairman Chung Eui-sun's vision and innovation as a game changer.
The case study used as teaching material (Hyundai Motor Group: From Fast Follower to Game Changer) was co-authored by Professor Lee Moo-won of Yonsei University, William Barnett, the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Sustainability Chair Professor, and Professor Kim Jae-gu of Myongji University’s Department of Business Administration. The case study defined Hyundai Motor Group as a "creative disruptor" in the future mobility field and deeply examined the "new rules of the game" pursued by Hyundai Motor Group. It also emphasized that Hyundai Motor Group will leap forward as a game changer leading the market landscape with innovative ideas, rather than being just one of the followers in the automobile manufacturing industry.
Furthermore, analyzing the correlation between corporate innovation and CEO leadership, it evaluated that "under Chairman Chung’s leadership, Hyundai Motor Group has redefined opportunities as a 'creative disruptor,' providing greater freedom of movement to humanity and standing at the forefront of the mobility market." The Yonsei University business students who attended the lecture engaged in a 100-minute discussion on Hyundai Motor Group’s new business vision, management performance, corporate culture, and challenges.

After listening to the students’ discussions and various analyses, Chairman Chung said, "Hyundai Motor Group wants to make everyone comfortable," adding, "I think that if more people can engage in productive activities and good ideas emerge in the process, the world could become a bit more peaceful."
He continued, "I hope you make the most of your talents and abilities to further develop our society in various fields," and added, "It is our duty to help you do so."
Also present at the lecture were Song Ho-sung, President of Kia, Kim Heung-soo, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, and Cho Hwa-soon, Outside Director of Kia. After the lecture, Chairman Chung and Hyundai Motor Group executives shared a meal with the students and engaged in conversations on various topics.
