Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jong-man) announced on the 24th that it held a steering committee meeting on the 23rd in preparation for the full-scale promotion of the 23rd Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival.
At the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on agenda items such as the appointment of new committee members, selection of the theme for this year’s festival, budget review, and festival programs.
In particular, the final judging result of the public theme contest for the 23rd Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival held last month selected “Into the Sangsa Flower Path, Into a Thousand Years of Love” as the grand prize winner.
Kim Yong-sik, chairman of the Sangsa Flower Festival Steering Committee, said, “This meeting marked the official start of the 23rd Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival,” adding, “With the great success of last year’s festival raising tourists’ expectations, we will strengthen existing programs and introduce new ones to transform the festival into a premium event that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.”
Meanwhile, the 23rd Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival, which has been selected as one of Jeollanam-do’s top 10 representative festivals for five consecutive years, will be held under the theme “Into the Sangsa Flower Path, Into a Thousand Years of Love” from September 15 to 24 for 10 days at the Bulgapsan tourist area.
