Improving Installation Convenience and Enhancing Hygiene Features
LG Electronics will launch the 2023 window-type air conditioner 'LG Whisen Objet Collection Edge' on the 26th, enhancing installation convenience and strengthening hygiene functions.
LG Electronics has expanded the installation kit for consumers who had difficulty installing window-type air conditioners due to high window heights. The product, which could previously be installed on windows with heights of 105 to 150 cm, can now be installed on large windows up to 240 cm. Additionally, for installation kits exposed at the top and bottom, the finishing kit can be optionally selected to cover them. With the air intake located on the front, there is almost no indoor protrusion, allowing the use of blinds or curtains.
The new product hygienically manages moisture by applying antibacterial treatment to the clean basket that collects condensation water generated from the heat exchanger. According to tests conducted by LG Electronics in collaboration with the nationally accredited testing institution Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR), the new clean basket has a 99.9% antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.

The drying function for cleanliness after air conditioner use has also been upgraded to ‘AI Dry+’. Previously, the drying function automatically ran after air conditioner use, taking about 20 to 35 minutes. The new product has expanded the drying airflow to three levels, reducing drying time to as short as 15 minutes and broadening user options. For users who want quiet yet cool airflow, a ‘Low Noise+’ function has been added, allowing five levels of airflow direction selection in low noise mode.
LG Electronics has retained the differentiated performance of the Whisen window-type air conditioner launched last year. The LG Whisen Objet Collection Edge is an energy efficiency grade 1 product produced directly at the LG Smart Park in Changwon. It is equipped with a dual inverter compressor with two cylinders compressing the refrigerant, delivering excellent cooling performance and energy efficiency.
The new product is also useful during the rainy season due to its outstanding dehumidification effect. It has a maximum dehumidification capacity of 34 liters per day, larger than a 20-liter large-capacity dehumidifier, keeping indoor spaces comfortable during the humid rainy season. According to tests by the internationally accredited certification body TUV Rheinland, it has been proven to block rainwater from entering indoors.
LG Electronics has applied R32 refrigerant, which has a global warming potential (GWP) level one-third to one-quarter that of the existing R410A, to all window-type air conditioners, contributing to environmental protection. This is part of LG Electronics’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management efforts to create a better environment for future generations.
The new product is an UP appliance that allows users to add desired functions through upgrades even after purchase. LG Electronics plans to provide the ‘Low Noise+’ and ‘AI Dry+’ functions applied to the new product as upgrades for window-type air conditioners launched last year.
The new product offers cooling area options of 16.5 square meters and 19.4 square meters. Prices range from 950,000 to 1,530,000 KRW based on cooling area and whether the finishing kit is included.
Jae-sung Lee, Vice President and Head of LG Electronics Air Solution Business Division, said, “Through the Whisen Objet Collection Edge, which features a design that suits any interior and can be installed on windows of various heights, we will provide a customer experience on a different level.”
