Eastsoft's stock price has surged for two consecutive days. The news that Microsoft (MS) will equip its Windows operating system (OS) with an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant called 'Copilot' appears to be influencing the stock price. Eastsoft joined the MS Vision Alliance earlier this month. This is a global project that MS is promoting to establish a foundation for distributing relevant technologies and services to the global market through strategic partnerships with promising technology companies worldwide.
As of 9:27 a.m. on the 24th, Eastsoft was trading at 16,760 KRW, up 13.4% from the previous day.
On the 23rd (local time), MS unveiled new products including Windows equipped with AI features at its annual developer conference (Build) held at its headquarters in Seattle, Washington, USA. The Copilot integrated into Windows 11, meaning co-pilot, is an AI assistant that helps users. MS plans to begin public testing next month and then distribute it to MS users.
The US specialized media TechCrunch commented, "Since MS and OpenAI have started plugins, competitors are also expected to launch their own plugin services," but added, "As with ChatGPT, MS already holds the priority, and this should not be underestimated."
Earlier, Eastsoft announced that CEO Jeong Sang-won and other key executives would visit MS headquarters in Seattle, USA, at MS's invitation. The expectation of overseas expansion of AI business is interpreted as influencing the stock price.
MS and Eastsoft will discuss ways to link MS's own services based on an understanding of the technical value of AI human technology. They also plan to explore collaboration opportunities using a global corporate network.
CEO Jeong Sang-won said, "One of the important purposes of this visit is to form a consensus on the vision of AI human technology between MS headquarters and our company," adding, "Based on the infinite scalability of AI human technology, we plan to successfully lead discussions between the two companies."
