Naver Cloud Labs and Korea Water Resources Corporation Collaborate to Build Digital Twin Service

Naver Cloud and Naver Labs announced on the 24th that they will collaborate with Korea Water Resources Corporation to build a digital twin service based on a water management platform.

The three companies signed a memorandum of understanding at Naver 1784 on the same day to "expand the application areas of digital twin technology in water management." They plan to share their expertise and know-how to expand various domestic and international business opportunities.

To this end, Naver Labs will utilize its AI-based digital twin development solution, "Alike," to provide a solution that analyzes problems and predicts disasters by running virtual simulations in an environment identical to the actual city through 3D models. Naver Cloud will support the entire process of infrastructure consulting, construction, and operation of the digital twin service to ensure stable operation on the Naver Cloud Platform.

Having recently formed a partnership with Saudi Arabia for national digital transformation based on digital twin technology, Naver Cloud and Naver Labs will support the construction of more advanced services by integrating world-class IT technologies to analyze and predict disaster situations such as floods. As a public institution, Korea Water Resources Corporation is expected to contribute to the government's key policy of supporting the overseas expansion of domestic private companies, creating a win-win cooperation system.

Hansang Young, Executive Director of Strategy & Planning at Naver Cloud, said, "The AI technologies and various services possessed by Team Naver are already being provided to numerous customers through the Naver Cloud Platform," adding, "The three companies plan to enhance the technology through cooperation in building the water management platform so that it can also be applied to building cloud-based smart cities."
