Gwangjin District Council Opens the 262nd 1st Regular Session
From May 23 to June 2, for 11 days
Key agenda items include district administration questions and approval of the 2022 fiscal year settlement
The Gwangjin District Council (Chairman Chu Yoon-gu) opened the 262nd 1st Regular Session on the 23rd, commencing 11 days of legislative activities until June 2.
During this 1st Regular Session, a total of 26 agenda items will be addressed, including the approval of the 2022 fiscal year supplementary budget and settlement, as well as 23 ordinance proposals.
Vice Chairman Shin Jin-ho, in his opening remarks, stated, “It has already been almost one year since the 9th Gwangjin District Council was inaugurated. I would like to express my gratitude to the residents for their generous encouragement and support.” He added, “This regular session is an important meeting scheduled for the approval of the 2022 fiscal year settlement and district administration questions. I ask that you conduct thorough reviews to provide practical assistance in the preparation of next year’s budget and financial planning.”
At the 1st plenary session that day, following Vice Chairman Shin Jin-ho’s opening remarks, Go Sang-soon, the lead member of the settlement inspection committee, reported on the “2022 Fiscal Year Settlement Inspection Results.” Subsequently, the Budget and Settlement Special Committee was formed and members were appointed to approve the settlement.
During the subsequent 5-minute free speeches, council members Lee Dong-gil, Kim Mi-young, and Kim Sang-bae took the floor.
First, Council Member Lee Dong-gil pointed out issues in promoting cultural events by neighborhood, urging transparent management of support budgets and active communication in the formation and operation of committees.
Next, Council Member Kim Mi-young cited cases of children and youth in family care who are in welfare blind spots, proposing organic cooperation with related organizations and the establishment of systematic welfare services.
Lastly, Council Member Kim Sang-bae mentioned problems in managing the natural learning center at Ttukseom Hangang Park, such as uneven ground and forsythia trees blocking walking paths, demanding thorough management to prevent inconvenience to residents using the Hangang River.
After the plenary session, the Budget and Settlement Special Committee convened in the afternoon, electing Council Member Seo Min-woo as chairperson and Council Member Kim Sang-bae as vice chairperson.
The Gwangjin District Council will conduct reviews of ordinance proposals and other agenda items by relevant standing committees on May 24 and 25, and from May 26 for four days, the Budget and Settlement Special Committee will review the approval of the 2022 fiscal year supplementary budget and settlement.
Additionally, district administration questions representing the voices of residents will be held during the 2nd plenary session on the morning of May 26. On the final day, June 2, the 3rd plenary session will be held to hear responses to the district administration questions and conclude the session.
