EXO Baekhyun Clarifies "Sock Group Purchase Is Not a Business Exploiting Fan Loyalty"

Baekhyun "I hope fans can buy socks at a low price too"

Boy group EXO's Baekhyun addressed the controversy surrounding the 'sock group purchase' he hosted.

On the 22nd, Baekhyun stated through the private messaging service Bubble, "I did not try to make money by using Eri (EXO fandom nickname)," adding, "I thought it would be good for Eri to buy the socks I like at a cheaper price, so I decided to sell them."

Baekhyun said, "Honestly, I was prepared for negative views," and added, "But as long as people could buy them cheaply because of me, it didn't matter."

Earlier, on the 14th, a fan asked Baekhyun on Twitter about the source of the socks he often wears, and Baekhyun replied, "I bought 100 of these, but I don't know the information."

When fans responded with comments like "Let's open a sock group purchase," Baekhyun contacted the styling team to look into the company and said he would proceed with a group purchase if possible.

However, some raised concerns that Baekhyun might be trying to make money by exploiting fans' affection.

Baekhyun clarified, "I did not receive any money from the sock company," and explained, "I only asked for a discount."

Meanwhile, since his discharge in February, Baekhyun has been actively engaging in activities such as holding a fan meeting at the KBS Arena. On April 28, he released the OST PART. 1 'Hello' for the SBS drama 'Romantic Doctor Kim Sa Bu 3.'
