On the afternoon of the 4th, around 5 PM, Miles visited the yoga studio 'Hot Yoga Chelsea' located on West 27th Street in Manhattan, New York. Miles has not undergone sex reassignment surgery but instead receives female hormone injections. Like biological females, he has breasts and wears women's clothing, but also has a penis, a male characteristic.

Previously, the yoga studio had informed Miles that transgender women could not use the women's changing room or restroom. However, he ignored the studio's instructions and entered the women's changing room.

A witness who was reportedly in the women's changing room at the time explained the situation: "He, claiming to be a transgender woman, entered the women's changing room dressed in masculine clothing," and "One woman who was with me expressed discomfort while being naked."

This is the third lawsuit related to 'gender identity discrimination' filed in New York courts since the Human Rights Law was enacted in 2016.

According to the Human Rights Law enacted by New York City in 2016, New Yorkers can choose their desired gender from at least 31 gender identity categories, and failure to respect an individual's chosen gender identity is illegal and punishable.

In particular, under the city’s Human Rights Law, visitors to buildings in New York have the right to use restrooms that correspond to their gender identity. As a result, building owners are accelerating the installation of 'gender-neutral restrooms' for transgender people. Gender-neutral restrooms are accessible to everyone, including LGBTQ individuals.

Minyano, who runs a company managing commercial buildings in Manhattan, said, "I recently received a notice from a lawyer to change all restrooms," adding, "We plan to convert them to gender-neutral restrooms to avoid city enforcement."

The New York Post pointed out that the outcome of this lawsuit could cause social unrest.
