On the 22nd, Kim Hyo-joo visited Wonju City Hall in Gangwon Province and generously donated 5 million won as a hometown love donation. Kim Hyo-joo is an alumnus of Yukmingwan Middle School in Wonju. She is a player who has won a total of 21 titles worldwide, including 14 wins on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, 5 wins on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, and 1 win on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour. Kim said, "Although I am physically far from my hometown, I always cherish warm memories of Wonju," adding, "I participated in this donation with the hope of contributing to the development of my hometown."


Won Gang-su, mayor of Wonju, said, "We deeply appreciate player Kim Hyo-joo," and added, "The donated funds will be used where citizens truly need them to make Wonju a better place to live." The hometown love donation system allows individuals to donate to Wonju, and the city collects these funds to use for residents' welfare. The annual limit is 5 million won. Donors receive tax deductions for their hometown love donations and gifts from Wonju City as a token of appreciation.
