Achieving Three Consecutive Championship Wins

The women's basketball team affiliated with Sacheon City Hall in Gyeongnam, the hometown of women's basketball in Korea, announced on the 23rd that it has risen to become the nation's top women's basketball corporate team.

The Sacheon City Hall women's basketball team achieved a remarkable feat of winning the championship for the third consecutive year at the '2023 National Corporate Basketball Federation Tournament' held at Gimcheon Indoor Gymnasium.

A total of five teams participated in this tournament, including Sacheon City Hall women's basketball team, Daegu City Hall, Seodaemun District Office, Gimcheon City Hall, and Seoul Basketball Association, competing fiercely for the title of the nation's best corporate team.

The Sacheon City Hall women's basketball team narrowly won the opening match against Gimcheon City Hall 64 to 61 after an overtime battle, advancing to the finals. Sacheon City Hall and Gimcheon City Hall are always fierce rivals competing for the championship trophy.

In the final match against Daegu City Hall, who advanced by defeating the Seoul Basketball Association and Seodaemun District Office, Sacheon City Hall won by a large margin of 54 to 41, claiming the tournament championship.

As a result, the Sacheon City Hall women's basketball team achieved the glory of their first championship in the 2021 National Corporate Basketball Federation Tournament and accomplished the feat of winning three consecutive titles.

Additionally, player Yoo Hyun-yi received the tournament's Most Valuable Player award, and coach Shin Won-hwa was honored with the Best Coach award, marking a double celebration for the team.

Club representative Park Dong-sik said, "Through this tournament victory, Sacheon City has once again proven to be the strongest in women's basketball, and I thank the players who have conveyed the citizens' hopes for the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency nationwide."

The Sacheon City Hall women's basketball team is recognized as the undisputed strongest women's corporate basketball team in Korea, not only for their three consecutive tournament wins but also for winning gold medals consecutively twice in the women's general division at the National Sports Festival.
