French Nationality 19,000-Ton Luxury Cruise
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced that the second international cruise ship of 2023 at Yeosu Port, Le Soleal of the French Ponant company, arrived on the 21st.
Le Soleal, which departed from Osaka, Japan, and called at Okayama and Tsushima before arriving at Yeosu Port, then headed to Fukuoka, Japan, carried a total of about 400 passengers and crew members from Europe.

YGPA deployed a total of about 30 personnel, including security and safety staff and interpreters, together with its subsidiary Yeosu Gwangyang Port Management Co., Ltd., to facilitate smooth immigration procedures for passengers. In cooperation with related organizations such as Yeosu City and Jeollanam-do Tourism Foundation, they operated free shuttle buses, set up specialty product sales booths, ran medical support teams, and held farewell performances to enhance tourist satisfaction.
The 199 tourists on Le Soleal visited major local attractions such as Yi Sun-sin Square, Naganeupseong Folk Village, and Suncheon Bay National Garden Expo.
President Park Seong-hyun said, “We will do our best to develop Yeosu Port into a world-class marine tourism hub.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Silver Whisper’ ship, which arrived at Yeosu Port last month, is scheduled to return in October, bringing about 1,700 cruise tourists to visit Yeosu.
