The Korea Cosmetic Association announced on the 22nd its welcome for the active support of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, which has worked to resolve difficulties faced by cosmetic companies, following a bilateral cooperation meeting at the director-general level with the Chinese cosmetics regulatory agency (National Medical Products Administration) held in Shanghai, China on the 9th.

According to the association, China previously only recognized original sales certificates with direct signatures and seals for the approval and registration of exported cosmetics, but going forward, electronically verified original sales certificates are also expected to be accepted. This is anticipated to shorten the preparation period for Korean companies exporting to China by more than a week.
The association further expressed strong support for efforts not limited to fragmented assistance but aimed at continuously resolving difficulties faced by Korean companies, including ▲promotion of technical cooperation in testing and evaluation fields ▲regularization of director-general level cooperation meetings ▲agreement to form a working group for discussing joint interest agendas.
Yeon Jae-ho, Vice Chairman of the Korea Cosmetic Association, stated, “In the face of difficult domestic and international conditions, the government’s timely efforts to resolve export difficulties to China have been a great support to the industry,” adding, “It is expected to provide practical help to corporate activities at this important time.”
He continued, “With the regularization of director-general level cooperation meetings and strengthened technical exchanges, Korea-China exchanges are expected to be further enhanced,” and said, “In particular, the recognition of domestically issued electronic sales certificates for Chinese approval and registration is expected to serve as a turning point for a new leap forward in the Chinese market. On behalf of the cosmetics industry, I express gratitude for the government’s efforts.”
