"Safety? It's easier to learn through musicals and VR!"

Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) has launched safety education for children.

On the 22nd, Guro-gu announced, "To prevent safety accidents among children, we have prepared safety education using engaging musicals and smart devices."

First, the musical will be performed for 1,000 children aged 5-7 attending daycare centers or kindergartens in the area.

The title is "An Underwater Safety Experience with the Accident-Prone Dragon King." It tells the story of the reckless Dragon King who reflects on his dangerous behavior and uses safety rules to drive away villains and restore peace to the Dragon Palace.

The performances will be held at the Guro-gu Community Center on June 29-30 at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM, for a total of four shows.

Applications can be made by institutions with up to 50 participants each. Recruitment is on a first-come, first-served basis through the district office website from 9 AM on May 24 to 6 PM on May 31.

Meanwhile, safety education using smart devices is part of the customized daily life safety education project, a pledge of the 8th local government administration. In the second half of last year, a total of 1,650 elementary students from 12 schools received this education.

This education will be conducted by visiting 13 elementary schools in the district during May and June.

Students wear virtual reality devices to experience scenarios such as traffic, fire, earthquakes, and infectious diseases. They also practice fire extinguishing using a simulated system fire extinguisher and perform CPR training using a simulated system.

A Guro-gu official said, "This will be an opportunity for children to make safety a part of their daily lives," adding, "We will promote various customized education programs by life cycle and field to enhance disaster response capabilities and safety culture awareness."
