Lee Won-wook Reveals 'Gaeddal Texts'... Lee Kyung Says "Calling It a Hardcore Fandom Over One Message"

Amid factional conflicts within the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee Won-wook, a non-Myeong (非明) faction member of the Democratic Party, publicly shared a text message from an ardent supporter known as 'Gaeddal' and urged Lee Jae-myung, the party leader, to "break ties with the hardline fandom." In response, Lee Kyung, a pro-Myeong (親明) faction deputy spokesperson of the Democratic Party, criticized this by saying, "You cannot talk about a hardline fandom based on a single party member's message."

On the 22nd, Lee Kyung stated through his social media service (SNS), "The opinion of one party member cannot represent the views of 5 million Democratic Party members."

The previous day, Lee Won-wook publicly revealed a text message he received from a 'Gaeddal' supporter, asking Lee Jae-myung, "Leader Lee, after seeing this, do you still have no intention of breaking ties with the hardline fandom?" The message from the supporter included statements such as "70% of the Democratic Party members are trash," and "Even if given 200 seats, if the majority are 'subak' (those who are different inside and out), such a Democratic Party is worse than the People Power Party."

Regarding the content of this message, Lee Won-wook said on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' "There are even more extreme messages than that. If we remain trapped in such extreme thoughts, can the Democratic Party have any hope?" He raised his voice, insisting that the leader must sever ties with the hardline fandom.

However, Deputy Spokesperson Lee Kyung pointed out that this is a "hasty generalization fallacy," saying, "This is a logical error that occurs when conclusions are drawn immediately based on only some cases or unrepresentative uncertain data. We should not shake the party leader by talking about a hardline fandom based on a single party member's message."
