The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 22nd that it will promote the 'Teumteum Physical Education Project' to utilize school gap spaces as physical education areas in order to restore students' physical fitness, which declined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Teumteum Physical Education Project is a program that installs ping pong tables, darts, basketball hoops, and other equipment in gap spaces such as the ends of school hallways and between buildings, helping students engage in physical activities more easily during after-school or other spare times.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education plans to select about 200 elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul as project sites and provide approximately 3 million won per school for space construction costs.
Additionally, it will offer play-type, game-type, and sports-type physical activity programs that students can easily follow.
Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education is operating the first semester of this year as a 'Didimdol Semester' to overcome the scars of COVID-19 among Seoul students, strengthening psychological counseling and expanding and operating health classes.
