4-H Yeonhaphoe Sees Over 30% Increase in New Members This Year

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is regaining vitality in rural areas as the number of new members in the Cheongsong-gun 4-H Federation has increased by more than 30% this year.

The Cheongsong-gun 4-H Federation is a youth agricultural organization that practices the ideals of wisdom, virtue, labor, and physical strength. It engages in various activities such as agricultural information exchange meetings, harmony activities, and task education. This year, the number of new members has significantly increased, expanding the base of young farmers.

In particular, on May 16, the Cheongsong-gun 4-H members gathered at the Agricultural Technology Center with the goal of cooperation and harmony, conducting task activities such as making stained glass stands and harmony activities. Through grinder work, applying copper tape, and soldering, they produced stained glass lamps, contributing to the cultivation of mutual communication skills and strengthening cooperation.

Yoon Kyung-hee, the governor of Cheongsong-gun, stated, “The Cheongsong-gun 4-H Federation is an important pillar of agriculture and rural areas as future agricultural manpower that will serve as a driving force for our region’s agriculture,” and urged, “As a representative farmers’ organization of Cheongsong-gun, it will play a key leadership role in agricultural development.”

Cheongsong-gun is making various efforts to foster the 4-H Federation, including operating a gardening education program for student 4-H members, supporting the 4-H headquarters capacity-building competition, camping events, capacity-building education, and supporting overseas training for 4-H members.
