Andong Facilities Management Corporation, Transportation Accessibility and Nationwide Largest Scale Promotion
Hakgasan Oncheon, operated by the Andong City Facilities Management Corporation, has surpassed 7 million visitors in just over 14 years since its opening.
The corporation announced on the 19th that it recorded 7 million visitors 14 years and 9 months after its opening.
Opened in September 2008, Hakgasan Oncheon is located near Seoan-dong IC, offering excellent accessibility. It is an ideal place for tourists visiting Andong’s famous attractions such as Hahoe Village, Byeongsan Seowon, and Bongjeongsa Temple to relax and unwind.
On this day, the Andong City Facilities Management Corporation held a commemorative event to welcome the 7 millionth visitor. The guest of honor was Mr. Park Jae-in and his family from Woljeon-ri, Bukhu-myeon, Andong City, who visited the oncheon with his elderly mother and wife to celebrate Family Month, adding to their joy. At the event, Chairman Kim Ki-wan presented a bouquet, and Director Park Yi-seop of the Culture and Tourism Headquarters gave a souvenir as a token of appreciation.
As one of the largest oncheon facilities nationwide, Andong Hakgasan Oncheon was established as a representative tourist and leisure spot in Andong, attracting over 500,000 visitors annually before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even after the lifting of COVID-19 social distancing measures, while oncheon businesses nationwide have slowed down, the facility currently sees an average of 1,000 to 1,500 visitors on weekdays and 2,000 to 2,500 on weekends.
An oncheon official stated, “We will strive to become the best oncheon in the country by providing various attractions and activities so that visitors can enjoy a more comfortable and pleasant experience.”
