Introducing '(Mu) AIA Dental Insurance with No Worries About Dental Expenses (Renewable)'
AIA Life has launched its first digital-only dental insurance.
On the 22nd, AIA Life announced the release of the '(Non-)AIA Worry-Free Dental Insurance (Renewable)'.
This product is a pure protection-type insurance that covers various treatment items, from frequently needed filling treatments to costly implant and prosthetic treatments.
The main contract covers filling treatment, pulp treatment, permanent tooth extraction, tartar removal treatment (scaling), and periodontal disease treatment. For filling treatment, there is no annual limit on the number of permanent teeth diagnosed; coverage is KRW 240,000 for gold and porcelain, KRW 20,000 for amalgam, and KRW 80,000 for other cases per tooth.
For pulp treatment, also known as root canal treatment, subscribers can receive unlimited annual coverage of up to KRW 20,000 per permanent tooth based on confirmed diagnosis results.
Additionally, for permanent tooth extraction due to dental caries, periodontal disease, or accidents, coverage is KRW 20,000 per tooth (up to 3 teeth annually), and tartar removal treatment (scaling) is covered up to KRW 10,000 once a year. Major periodontal disease treatments are covered up to KRW 30,000 annually without limit upon confirmed diagnosis.
All of these apply after the coverage start date based on the maximum subscription account. For filling treatment, 50% of the coverage amount is paid during a one-year waiting period.
Meanwhile, through additional special contracts, crown treatment and prosthetic treatment are also covered. Based on the maximum subscription account, when subscribing to the crown treatment coverage special contract, coverage is KRW 400,000 per crown tooth treatment (up to 3 teeth annually). The prosthetic treatment coverage special contract covers denture treatment at KRW 500,000 per occurrence (once annually). Bridge and implant treatments are covered up to 3 teeth annually, with KRW 500,000 and KRW 1,000,000 per permanent tooth respectively.
These also apply after the coverage start date based on the maximum subscription account. However, if caused by dental caries or periodontal disease, 50% of the coverage amount is paid for two years.
Subscriptions can be made through Samsung Card’s own insurance mall ‘Direct Insurance’ and AIA Life’s mobile-only channel ‘AIA Direct’. Eligible ages for subscription are 20 to 60 years old. Coverage can be renewed up to age 80. However, premiums may increase upon renewal.
An AIA Life representative stated, "We will continue to make our best efforts to enable more customers to live ‘healthier, longer, and better lives’ through innovative products that reflect customer demand."
