Hyundai Motor Completes N?rburgring 24-Hour Endurance Race 8 Years in a Row

Hyundai Motor Company's high-performance N brand achieved victory and successfully completed the race for the 8th consecutive year at the notoriously challenging 'N?rburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race.'

Hyundai announced on the 22nd that at the '2023 N?rburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race (ADAC TotalEnergies 24h N?rburgring)' held over two days from the 20th to the 21st at N?rburgring in Germany, the Elantra N TCR (domestic name Avante N TCR) and the i30 Fastback N Cup Car took 1st place in the TCR class and VT2 class, respectively.

The TCR class refers to front-wheel-drive touring race cars with an engine displacement under 2000cc, while the VT2 class refers to race cars based on production vehicles with turbo engines under 2000cc, with minimal tuning.

A total of 131 vehicles participated in this race, with 88 successfully finishing, resulting in a completion rate of about 67%. Hyundai entered a total of four vehicles: two Elantra N TCRs in the TCR class and two i30 Fastback N Cup Cars in the VT2 class. Among them, three vehicles completed the race.

The Elantra N TCR achieved its third consecutive win in the TCR class and ranked 27th overall. The i30 Fastback N Cup Car, competing in the VT2 class, also secured 1st place in its class and ranked 53rd overall.

Since 2016, Hyundai has set a great record by completing the N?rburgring race for eight consecutive years, impressing motorsport fans worldwide with the technological prowess of the N brand.

The performance of newly joined drivers in the team attracted attention in this race. The American Brian Herta Autosport team, competing in the TCR class, achieved a respectable result by finishing 2nd in the TCR class and 28th overall.

Park Junsung, who was finally selected in March this year through the 'Hyundai Junior Driver Program' and made his racing debut, failed to finish in the VT2 class. However, his determination until the very end demonstrated potential for future competitions.

He added, "We will continue to challenge ourselves to enhance the technology of the high-performance N brand to provide new driving experiences."
