Maximizing Visual Effects, Increasing Utilization
Kickoff Report on the 22nd, Rebirth in October
Ulsan City will completely revamp its currently operated statistics website to be user-centered, making it easier for citizens to utilize.
Until now, the statistics website lacked engaging content for users and had poor convenience, leading to continuous demands for its overhaul.
The currently provided services include basic information such as ‘Status of Nationally Approved Statistics’ and ‘Statistics Publication Schedule,’ as well as uniform figures like ‘Statistical Tables,’ ‘Statistical Publications Files (Hangul, Excel, PDF),’ and ‘Statistics DB.’
To address these issues, a kickoff meeting was held on the 22nd to begin the full-scale renovation work, with plans to operate the new statistics website starting in October.
Looking at the main renovation plans, the homepage will prominently display ‘Real-time Visualization Service,’ ‘Real-time Top Search Terms,’ and ‘Popular Statistics’?the statistics most frequently sought by citizens?to attract interest.
Additionally, the ‘Statistics on Ulsan’ content will allow users to view Ulsan’s daily life, development status, economic conditions, population, and 100 key indicators at a glance, showcasing changes in Ulsan.
Through ‘Map Utilization Content,’ map services will be implemented for location-based statistical information necessary for policy decisions, as well as statistics related to citizens’ lives such as housing, convenience facilities, educational institutions, welfare, and culture.
Moreover, ‘Experience Content’ that users can find engaging will be added, along with a ‘Regional Comparison Content’ service to help users understand Ulsan’s position.
Furthermore, a ‘Website Sitemap’ will be organized to make it easier for users to navigate, improving accessibility by statistics and themes, and a ‘User Satisfaction Survey’ feature will be added for each content to continuously gather feedback and focus on managing a user-centered website.
An official from Ulsan City stated, “We plan to improve functions to transform the statistics website into a Ulsan-type, user-centered platform by focusing on issues raised due to outdated statistical services and collecting cases from various institutions.”
