According to major foreign media on the 20th (local time), Jake Sullivan, the U.S. National Security Advisor, stated that the G7 leaders gathered in Hiroshima, Japan, agreed to support the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The day before, the G7 issued the "G7 Hiroshima Vision on Nuclear Disarmament" statement, urging North Korea to refrain from nuclear tests and launches using ballistic missile technology. Through this statement, the G7 leaders emphasized that "a world without nuclear weapons cannot be achieved without nuclear non-proliferation."

The leaders also declared in the statement that "Russia's nuclear-related threats and its intention to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus are dangerous and unacceptable," and called for "Russia to return to the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START)."

Advisor Sullivan also revealed that the G7 leaders plan to release a statement mentioning a joint approach toward China. He explained that the statement will focus on "de-risking" rather than "decoupling" (exclusion from supply chains) regarding China, including measures to protect sensitive technologies such as foreign investment policies.

He said, "The joint statement will mention that while each country maintains independent relations and responses, we are united on common elements." He added, "You will find the language concerning China to be completely straightforward. It is not hostile or unnecessary but direct and candid."
