According to Japan's NHK on the same day, the Japanese government announced that President Zelensky will attend a meeting with G7 leaders on the 21st to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

This is the first time President Zelensky has visited Asia since Russia invaded Ukraine in February last year.

Meanwhile, President Zelensky, who had visited Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Arab League (AL) summit, is scheduled to depart Jeddah Airport at dawn on a French government aircraft and arrive at Hiroshima Airport in Japan in the afternoon.
