COVID-19 New Cases 18,106... About 1,200 Fewer Than a Week Ago

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 18,106, bringing the total to 31,524,477.

The number of new confirmed cases decreased by 1,480 compared to the previous day (19,586) and decreased by 1,246 compared to a week ago on the 13th (19,352).


From the 14th to today, the daily new confirmed cases over the past week were 17,385 → 7,174 → 23,671 → 26,133 → 21,793 → 19,586 → 18,106, with a daily average of 19,121.


Among the new confirmed cases today, 19 were imported cases, and 18,087 were domestic community infections.


The number of confirmed cases by region (including imported cases) is as follows: Gyeonggi 5,031, Seoul 4,371, Incheon 992, Busan 953, Gyeongnam 867, Daegu 691, Chungnam 689, Gyeongbuk 598, Chungbuk 568, Jeonbuk 557, Jeonnam 553, Gangwon 543, Daejeon and Gwangju 488 each, Jeju 304, Ulsan 259, Sejong 143, and quarantine 11.


The number of critically ill patients hospitalized as of midnight today is 150, an increase of 6 from the previous day. The number of deaths reported the previous day was 5, which is 8 fewer than the day before. The cumulative number of deaths is 34,670, with a cumulative fatality rate of 0.11%.
