'Noryang: Sea of Death' Pre-Sold in North America and Europe

'Noryang: Sea of Death' sheds light on the winter sea of 1598, when the Imjin War came to an end. It depicts the Battle of Noryang, where Yi Sun-sin, alongside the Ming navy, launched an attack to annihilate the Japanese forces. In what was the deadliest single battle, Yi Sun-sin was shot and fell while pursuing the last Japanese troops. He left a dying message: "The battle is urgent, do not say that I have died (戰方急愼勿言我死)" before passing away.

Director Kim aims to portray Yi Sun-sin as a wise general (賢將) while showcasing the pinnacle of the Joseon navy. He dedicates 1 hour and 40 minutes solely to the naval battle reenactment. Kim Yoon-seok plays the pivotal role of Yi Sun-sin. Baek Yoon-sik portrays Shimazu Yoshihiro, Jung Jae-young plays Jin Lin, Heo Jun-ho is Deng Zilong, Kim Sung-kyu acts as Jun Sa, Choi Deok-moon as Song Yeo-jong, Nam Kyung-eup as Kwon Yul, Lee Je-hoon as King Gwanghae, Park Myung-hoon as Shimazu Tadatsune, and Lee Kyu-hyung as Arima Harunobu. The film is scheduled for release this winter.
