Hanse Industrial, New Factory Construction in Vietnam... "Expanding Eco-friendly Apparel Production"

Planned Establishment of Recycling Cotton Fiber Facility

Hansae Co., Ltd. announced on the 19th that it will implement the Recover Project at its production factory in Vietnam to expand its eco-friendly clothing production system.

Hansae Co., Ltd. plans to remodel Factory 9 of its Vietnam VN corporation to install Recover machines, and subsequently build a new factory on the adjacent site of Factory 9 to establish a recycled cotton fiber production facility with a total area of 20,000 SQM. To this end, it has signed a business agreement with Hanoi Simex, a subsidiary of the Vietnamese state-owned enterprise Vinatex, and is building a value chain for producing recycled fiber garments.

Recover is a company that possesses technology to collect, sort, and shred fabrics and garments into small pieces, producing fibers in a raw material state that can be spun into yarn again. For the Recover Project to function smoothly, it is essential to carry out the collection and sorting of discarded fabrics and fiber waste stably, along with the process of spinning the produced fibers into yarn.

Ho Chi Minh City, where Hansae Co., Ltd.'s Vietnam VN is located, is evaluated as an optimal place for collecting and utilizing fiber waste due to the concentration of large-scale textile complexes. Additionally, its proximity to surrounding sewing factories allows for minimizing carbon emissions generated during transportation. The remodeling of Factory 9 is scheduled to begin within this year, aiming to start production by 2024.

Kim Ik-hwan, Vice Chairman of Hansae Co., Ltd., stated, "Hansae Co., Ltd.'s Vietnam VN Recover Project will help respond to the rapidly increasing global demand for sustainable fashion and support the circularity of the textile and fashion industry." He added, "Through this Recover Project, recycled fabrics will be made into export products and primarily exported to European markets such as the European Union (EU), where eco-friendly processes are mandated in clothing production."
