Yangcheon-gu to Recruit 208 Participants for ‘Donghaeng Jobs’ in 19 Fields Including School Zone Guardians

Recruitment of 208 Participants Until May 30, Focusing on Providing Direct Jobs to Vulnerable Groups to Establish a ‘Self-Help and Self-Reliance’ Foundation Where the Weak Help the Weak

19 Job Types Including School Zone Traffic Safety Guardians, Our Neighborhood Digital Guides, and Meal Support for People with Developmental Disabilities



Yangcheon-gu announced that it is operating the ‘Second Half Yangcheon-gu Donghaeng Jobs Project,’ which provides direct jobs to employment-vulnerable groups, enabling the weak to help other weak individuals based on self-help and self-reliance, and is recruiting 208 participants until the 30th of this month.


The second half Donghaeng Jobs project consists of 19 job types, including ▲School Zone Traffic Safety Guardians ▲Our Neighborhood Digital Guides ▲Meal Support Project for People with Developmental Disabilities ▲Senior Happiness UP Donghaeng Helpers ▲Our Neighborhood Safety and Environment Guardians, among others.


The ‘School Zone Traffic Safety Guardians’ for the safe commuting routes of our children will be responsible for guiding traffic and pedestrian safety around elementary schools, monitoring and reporting hazardous factors at construction sites near school routes, and protecting children.


The ‘Our Neighborhood Digital Guides,’ who help improve accessibility for digitally vulnerable groups, will be stationed at community centers to educate residents, especially the elderly who have difficulty using kiosks and unmanned civil service issuance machines, as well as various digital platforms (such as Government24, Bokjiro, etc.).

In addition, the district plans to promote projects selected by the Seoul City project selection committee, including the meal support project that helps people with developmental disabilities maintain a healthy diet; the ‘Senior Happiness UP Donghaeng Helpers’ who support seniors’ participation in life sports such as gateball and park golf; the ‘Our Neighborhood Safety and Environment Guardians’ who create a safe living environment by maintaining rainwater drains and preventing illegal dumping; and the ‘One Step Donghaeng Helpers’ who assist in operating support facilities for small business owners.


The recruitment target is 208 people, and applicants must be residents aged between 18 and under 65 with the ability to work. Especially this year, the eligibility criteria have been relaxed to expand participation by setting household property at 469 million KRW and below 75% of the median income standard.


Participants are expected to work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week as a principle, and the district plans to manage and supervise to ensure substantial work by implementing common work rules for participants.


Residents wishing to apply should visit their local community service center with identification and the project participation application form by May 30. The district will notify the selection results individually by the end of June after screening.
