Focus on Securing the 2024 Local Extinction Response Fund
Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is putting all its efforts into securing the "2024 Local Extinction Response Fund" to address the increasingly serious issues of population decline and local extinction.

In this regard, on May 18th, the county held a mid-term report meeting for the "2024 Local Extinction Response Fund Investment Plan" establishment project at the Future Leap Office of the county office, attended by County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee and more than 20 heads of departments, divisions, and offices.
This report meeting was organized to review unique and differentiated projects specific to Cheongsong-gun based on strategies derived from analyzing local conditions and gathering residents' opinions, aiming to prepare more realistic and efficient measures against population decline and local extinction, and to secure as much of the 2024 Local Extinction Response Fund as possible.
Intense discussions were held to secure the maximum amount of funding from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, including strategic analysis of projects requiring the 2024 Local Extinction Response Fund, plans to promote specialized projects to attract young populations, measures to attract returning farmers through the operation of the Cheongsong Apple Academy, and projects to revitalize family workation with a healing and recreational focus that can highlight the image of "Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong-gun."
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, "The national policy to prevent population decline is diversifying into increasing resident population, preventing resident outflow, and securing living population," adding, "We will secure the maximum fund with differentiated strategies that highlight Cheongsong’s unique strengths to create a livable and vibrant region for everyone."
