Uljin-gun to Host 'Together Happiness Festival' for This Year's Disabled Persons Day Ceremony

On the 17th, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, held the '2023 Disability Day Commemoration Ceremony - Happiness Festival Together' at the Uljin County Gymnasium, organized by nine disability institutions and organizations.

About 700 people, including representatives from disability institutions and organizations, volunteers, and local people with disabilities, attended the ceremony. The county governor presented commendations to exemplary persons with disabilities who have worked to improve awareness of disabilities and to contributors to the promotion of welfare for people with disabilities.


The ceremony featured a variety of performances, including a Taekwondo demonstration by members of the Elite Taekwondo Academy, a sign language choir by members of the Uljin-gun Deaf Association, poetry recitation by a member of the Uljin-gun Traffic Disabled Association, and a choir by users with disabilities from the Uljin-gun Severe Disability Independence Support Center.


County Governor Son Byeong-bok expressed his hope that the event would serve as a valuable opportunity to renew awareness of people with disabilities and to create a happy Uljin-gun where everyone lives together without prejudice or discrimination. He conveyed his greetings in sign language, wishing health and good fortune to all attendees, adding deeper significance to the event.
