Information and communication equipment specialist Mercury announced on the 18th that it has signed a contract to supply embedded PoE routers to the Japanese market.
Mercury plans to supply embedded PoE routers to distributors within Japan, who will then provide these products to telecommunications operators in Japan. Leading with the embedded PoE routers, Mercury aims to actively target the Japanese market by offering a lineup of various new Wi-Fi router products.
The embedded PoE router being supplied this time offers Wi-Fi speeds of up to 1.2Gbps and features the ability to provide both communication and power supply through a single cable without the need for a separate power cable, significantly reducing the total number of cables. This greatly simplifies the building construction process, reducing installation costs and making installation more convenient.
A company representative stated, “Given the unique housing structures in Japan and the fact that embedded PoE products are mainly used in newly constructed houses, apartments, and buildings, the embedded PoE router market is expected to continue growing, so we anticipate performance growth in the Japanese market.”
They also emphasized, “Starting with our entry into the Japanese market, we plan to actively target overseas markets such as the United States. Based on our success in the domestic telecommunications Wi-Fi AP market, we are actively working to develop products that meet the diverse needs of customers abroad, aiming to expand additional product exports.”
